Let me upgrade you!
At the beginning of the year I decided that I wanted to devote time to upgrading some things around my new home. Creating a space that promotes a lifestyle to be productive is very important to me.
I need a place that does not stifle my creativity, and so I decided I needed some help.
I’m going to be honest, I really don’t have a designing bone in my body. When you are weak in one area, it is crucial that you enlist the help of someone that is strong in the areas where you are lacking. I was on Facebook and saw that one of my favorite interior designers would be in the area for consultations.
I….JUMPED…ON…IT!!!
My appointment was scheduled for the following Wednesday with Glasshouse Interior, and I was on cloud nine for the days leading up to the meeting. Guess what?!
An hour before the appointment my electricity was OFF. Yes, you read that correctly. The winds were very strong that day, and ya girl was without power. The first thing I thought was I know I paid my bill, what in the heck is really going on?!
Marissa, of Glasshouse Interior was prompt, and ready to assess my space. Her level of expertise blew my mind. I was anxious before meeting with her, but she made me so relaxed in my own home. She provided an abundance of information during our time together. By the end of the session I was inspired. Overall, I was driven to do more with my space, and realized the potential that the space holds.
I spent the entire weekend in the hardware store(s) playing with colors for my living room and home office. I strolled around the store looking at everything for the home. I tried my best not to be discouraged through this process because it seemed as though everyone was sure of what they wanted. Then I was reminded that it’s one space at a time, and don’t judge a person by where they are. This was a great reminder for me. Don’t try to do everything at one time. Choose one task, KILL it, and move on.
Stop…Breathe…Repeat I know that the headquarters will come together in due time. There’s no need to rush anything that lesson goes beyond the remodeling of my place. I realized in order to take it up a notch I have to upgrade my place too.
I’ll be sure to post before, and after pics too! Until then please continue to support, and love on ya girl, I’m going to need it!
XOXO,
R.J.
